Often, business owners find themselves hovering over their business, watching the minutiae with a careful eye.
They find themselves afraid to step back from the business and let it run more or less on its own. But in fact, this is precisely what they should be able to do.
Today, I talk about how a business is like a child.
So, I note that it goes through many stages that ultimately lead to its relative independence.
And, I note that running a business isn’t just handling problems as they come; it’s putting systems in place to handle those problems in the future so you don’t have to.
“What we want to do is nurture our business and allow our business to stretch its legs, to the point where it can toddle around on its own and we just need to keep a little eye on it from time to time.” – Matthew Kimberley
